The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” the U.S. Army’s premier music organization, announces a vacancy for Human Resources NCO.
This position is open to Active-Duty, Reserve, and National Guard military personnel.
As the unit's Human Resources NCO, candidate must be able to provide administrative support to the command staff and Soldiers in handling personnel-related issues. Will serve as a liaison between TUSAB, Military Personnel Division (MPD), and DFAS. Will be responsible for oversight of all personnel and financial actions flowing through the unit. Serve as the primary contact for arriving Soldiers and assisting Soldiers who are transitioning from the unit (retirement, PCS or separating from service). Ensure the timeliness, flow, and quality of NCOERs, OERs, promotion requests, awards, command correspondence, personnel accountability, separations and discharges, UCMJ, MOS related actions and other requests. Eligibility
SPC (E-4) to SFC (E-7)
Candidates must be familiar with the following systems: ePROFILE, MEDPROS, EES, iPERMS, Smart Voucher, and IPPS-A. Must possess a strong level of computer literacy with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Teams, and Adobe. Possess knowledge of Department of the Army/Defense regulations, policies, and procedures related to personnel actions, with the ability to interpret, understand, and provide appropriate resolution or guidance. The individual must have a thorough understanding of military personnel rules, procedures, and operations, and the skills necessary to perform a wide range of support activities.
Interested applicants must be able to assess personnel needs, prepare and track personnel action requests, and identify and resolve finance and personnel issues or discrepancies. The candidate should be able to work independently, effectively address problems, and complete tasks following established procedures. Additionally, the candidate will manage Civilian personnel-related matters. While prior knowledge of Civilian personnel management is not required, training will be provided. The Soldier will also perform other administrative duties as assigned.
- Candidate must have a Secret security clearance.
- Have 3 or more years prior to ETS or willing to reenlist.
- Members of The U.S. Army Band are reclassed to MOS of 42S “Special Band Musician.”

Military Rank
Members of “Pershing’s Own” are given the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 42S (forty two sierra), “Special Band Musician”. Personnel are promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6) two months after completion of Basic Combat Training.
