Program
Chamber music is a core element of The U.S. Army Strings' mission. String quartets provide a backdrop for significant official functions as well as public performances. Duos, trios, quartets, and mixed chamber ensembles perform in venues throughout the National Capital Region. The U.S. Army String Quartet is often requested for high-level military and government events and provides an intimate audience experience. The quartet has performed at events at the White House and the U.S. Department of State. It connects with the next generation of young musicians through the Army Strings educational outreach initiatives.
Selections for the U.S. Army String Quartet's performance include works by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, Alice Hong, Caroline Shaw, Charles Ives, and a virtuosic rendition of Sousa's Stars and Stripes.
