Biography

Musician 1st Class Andrew Lyster is a native of Fort Worth, Texas. He has earned a Bachelor of Music in performance from The University of North Texas, a Master of Music from The Royal Northern College of Music and has completed studies towards a doctoral degree at The University of Texas. His primary teachers have been Dr. Nathaniel Brickens, Dr. Brian Bowman, Christian Jones, and Steven Mead. In 2021, Lyster auditioned and was selected for assignment to the U.S. Naval Academy Band where he reported for duty to Annapolis following Veterans’ training at RTC, Great Lakes. He performs with the brass quintet, trombone quartet, marching band, brass ensemble, brass band, and ceremonial units.
