Biography
MSG Matthew P. Heil found his love of music when his parents gifted him a "Mr. Microphone" and that's where it all went down hill. Just Kidding! Heil loved to sing in the childrenʼs choir and everywhere from an early age. He continued studying voice but also excelled on the piano, clarinet, bass clarinet, andtenor saxophone.Heil received his Bachelor of Music, cum laude, from Georgia Southern Universityand his Masters degree in Vocal Pedagogy at The Peabody Institute of The JohnsHopkins University.When not performing with The U.S. Army Chorus, Heil has been a featured soloistwith The National Gallery of Art Vocal Ensemble, The Choral Arts Society ofWashington, Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, Southern Georgia Symphony, The HandelChoir of Baltimore and Gloria Musicae. His oratorio credits include the works ofBeethoven, Brahms, Charpentier, Gounod, Handel, Haydn, Liszt, Mozart, and Vivaldi.His ensemble contributions include productions for Wolf Trap Opera and The AtlantaOpera.In his spare time, Heil serves as a staff instructor for noteBUSTERS, anextracurricular vocal performance program for elementary students in Washington, D.C.
