Manuel Romero


Biography

Manuel Melchor Romero, born in Valencia (Spain), he received his musical training under renowned professors, earning academic distinctions and degrees in Tuba Performance and Music Pedagogy at the conservatories of Valencia and Castellón.
Since 2024, he has served as Principal Tuba of the Symphonic Band of the Spanish National Police. He was previously a member of the Wind Band of the General Headquarters of the Spanish Air and Space Force (2017–2024) and contracted Principal Tuba of the Extremadura Orchestra (2018–2021).

He actively collaborates with some of Spain’s leading symphony orchestras, including the Spanish National Orchestra (Orquesta Nacional de España), the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC), the Valencia Orchestra (Orquesta de Valencia), and the Orchestra of the Community of Madrid (ORCAM), Navarra Orchestra (OSN), among others. He has received awards in various national competitions, both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles—most notably, First Prize at the 2014 AETYB International Competition.

Manuel is a Wessex Professional Artist, playing the Chicago-York CC tuba and the Berg F tuba.
