Biography

SFC Keenan McCarter made his operatic debut with Southern Illinois Summer Music Festival in 2012 as the Duke of Verona in “Romeo and Juliet,” and has made solo appearances with Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Southern Great Lakes Symphony Orchestra, Southern Illinois Summer Music Festival, American Chamber Opera, Candid Concert Opera, and Lyric Opera of Chicago’s “Opera in the Neighborhoods.” Award highlights include the Southern Illinois Young Artist Organization Vocal Competition, Opera Idol of Chicago finalist, and The Schuyler Foundation for Career Bridges 2013.
