Biography
SSG Jeff Lewandowski, a native of Livonia Michigan, joined “Pershing’s Own” in 2024. He was previously the principal trumpet of the United States Army Field Band Concert Band. He holds degrees from Grand Valley State University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. His primary teachers include Mark Inouye, Philip Collins and Richard Stoelzel. As a freelance musician he has performed with a variety of ensembles including the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, Jacksonville Symphony, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony, Brass Band of Battle Creek and many others. He was a member of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, Flint Symphony Orchestra, Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra and the Midland Symphony Orchestra. He has attended the Texas Music Festival, New York String Orchestra Seminar, Chautauqua Music Festival, National Repertory Orchestra and the Weimar Bach Academy. SSG Lewandowski won first place in the International Trumpet Guild Orchestral Excerpts Competition, two first place prizes in the National Trumpet Competition Trumpet Ensemble Division, and was a three-time finalist for the NTC Solo Division.
