Biography
SSG Sewell grew up in Fort Mitchell, KY where he began playing saxophone at age 10. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music in 2022 where he studied saxophone with Dr. James Bunte and Dr. Om Srivastava. He continued his studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where he studied saxophone with Dr. Otis Murphy. During his time at Indiana University, he was awarded the performer’s certificate. He graduated from Indiana University with a Master of Music degree in 2024. Sewell has performed at the Adolphe Sax International Competition in Dinant, Belgium and the Andorra International Saxophone Competition. Sewell enjoys performing many different styles of music, including classical and jazz. In June of 2024, Sewell won an audition to join “Pershing’s Own.”
