Biography
SFC Craig Basarich joined The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Ceremonial Band in November 2018. A native of the Chicago area, Basarich grew up inGurnee, Illinois, and graduated from Warren Township High School. In 2013, Basarich graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with an undergraduate degree in music education. He went on to complete a master’s degree in music performance at the University of Maryland. Prior to joining“Pershing’s Own,” Basarich was interim principal and third trumpet of the Cape Symphony Orchestra in Cape Cod, MA. Professionally, Craig has shared the stage with trumpet legends John Faddis, Greg Gisbert, and Terrell Stafford, pianist Cyrus Chestnut, folk musician MarkO’Connor, pianist Lise de la Salle, acoustic guitarist and YouTube star TraceBundy, and many more. Craig was a founding member of the Colorado-based funk and soul band “The Burroughs.” His primary teachers include Chris Gekker, Dr. John Adler, and Dr. Kevin Whalen.
