Biography

SSG Conor Wilson, a native of El Paso, TX, joined The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in August of 2024. He began his undergraduate studies at Baylor University in 2020, where he studied under Brent Phillips. While studying at Baylor, Wilson was the winner of the 2022 Southeast Trombone Symposium Orchestral Excerpts competition and a finalist in the solo competition, as well as a finalist in the 2022 International Trombone Association George Roberts solo competition and Edward Kleinhammer Orchestral bass trombone competition. In 2023, he was the winner of the Edward Kleinhammer Orchestral bass trombone competition. Outside of his duties with The “Pershing’s Own,” Wilson enjoys cooking, watching football, and is an avid gym-goer. His mentors and teachers include Brent Phillips, Steve Wilson, Barry Hearn, and Richard Harris.
